Hopscotch Plants Competition Results!

A month ago, we introduced Hopscotch Plants, gifts that kids can buy and give to others in appreciation of a project. Following this introduction, we hosted #Plants2020, a challenge in which kids had to create any project relating to plants. They had endless possibilities which included creating a plant-themed game, writing a story about a plant, or even creating a new type of plant!

Here are the finalists of the competition, in alphabetical order:

DarthPumpkin, with their project “Plants2020 🌱”

In this game, you grow a random seed into a plant. First, you’re given a seed and have to plant it in a pot. Then, you have to water it. Once that’s done, you watch your plant grow! There are 10 different plant possibilities.

Epilepsy_Kid Goodmornin, “Plants2020 v3.0”:

In this game, you have to fix a flower garden by planting Marigolds and Daisies but have to keep them on separate sides of the garden. To pick a type of flower, tap on the name and watch your flower grow!

Kevin^, “The Dollar Tree”

In this business simulator game, you run a store called The Dollar Tree. You can plant saplings, set the prices of trees, and buy advertisements for your store. The growth of plants and the number of customers you get also depends on the weather. Try to make as much money as possible over 10 days!

Lil baby bird, “mygarden version 1.0”

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to tend to your own garden? Then this game is for you! Pick a plant, place it, water it, and wait for it to grow.

Mawnster, “Plants and Ants!”

This is a game where your choice and the ability to tap the screen will be a matter of winning or losing. You can pick to play as one of 12 different characters. Depending on what kind of plant your character is, you get different advantages and disadvantages. You have to avoid the ants and spiders for as long as you can.

Rick Riordan Fangirl🌈🏳️‍🌈, “What Type of Plant🌱 Are You?”

What type of plant are you? Answer this quiz and you will find out!

Shibanip, “#Plants2020”

In this project, you have to create a garden. First, you pick your seeds and water them. While you wait for your plant to grow, you get to play a fun game of “Plant Says”, a take on “Simon says”.

tankt2016, with their project “Butterfly Polyart”

In this shape art project, you can see a beautiful butterfly and flower polyart being created. Whilst you wait for it to complete, you can read about some cool butterfly facts.

th3SMG, “Tree Planter”

Plant a tree and save the planet! First, you plant the seed and wait for it to grow into a sapling. Then you water it, and soon, you’ve grown your own unique tree.

!trAevoLI #ToucanGang, “Flower Designer”

Nowadays scientists can engineer new flowers in their laboratories. Well, in Hopscotch, you can engineer and grow a new plant right on your screen!

And now, we have the winners!

In third place, we have Kevin^ who created a super fun game with awesome mechanics and graphics.

In the second place, we have tankt2016 with a super beautiful, complicated project, and interesting facts about butterflies.

And finally, in the first place, we have DarthPumpkin! Well done DarthPumpkin — your project is very well made and has some stunning graphics and an interesting concept.
